AIFF Jury Award “2012 Best Documentary” | Racing the Rez directed by Brian Truglio

Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) is proud to announce that Brian Truglio, director of the film, Racing the Rez, awarded AIFF’s 2012 “Best Documentary”,
Brian, a local filmmaker from Somerville, MA, has fused his passion for running with his strong connection to the people and culture of the Navajo Nation in Arizona.

Racing the Rez is a documentary that tells the story of Navajo and Hopi runners from two rival high school cross country teams in northern Arizona who are fighting for a state championship.

Shot over two years, it focuses on how the sport impacts the lives of five boys growing up on the reservation and helps them confront the challenges they face on and off the course.
