Inner Workings

October 7, 2022

SATURDAY | 12:00pm

Cara Davidson

10 min | 2022 | CA, USA | New England Premiere

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY & BEST EDITING

Synopsis: Cara opens up about her experience with depression and body dysmorphia and explores how mental health struggles manifest for others in Generation Z, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Jury Statement: Wow! What an incredible film. The editing, cinematography, interview clips, and old footage all cut together so well with the narration which is set in its own story at a photoshoot in which someone asks Cara to smile. The information is also incredibly valuable to the audience, an important message to hear. Lastly, the piano clip is such a perfect ending to the film. Wonderful job, and please keep making films!
